Questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF Studio runs entirely in your web browser. Files are opened, edited and saved on your own computer; nothing is sent to Aakaar or any other server, and no document information is sent to analytics.
Which files can I open?
PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, SVG and DXF, and Word, Excel and PowerPoint files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx), which become PDF pages with a simplified layout. HTML pages open in your browser's print window to save as PDF. Old .doc, .xls, .ppt and DWG files cannot be read in a browser; clean a DWG with CAD Cleaner first.
Can I resize an A1 drawing to A3 and keep it to scale?
Yes. Sheet size resizing keeps drawings as vectors and tells you the new scale: an A1 sheet at 1:100 printed on A3 becomes exactly 1:200, because ISO sheets halve with each size.
Can it make scanned drawings searchable?
Yes. OCR & scans reads printed English text on scanned pages and adds an invisible text layer, so the PDF can be searched and copied. It can also straighten scans, remove background and discolouration, sharpen linework and make clean black-and-white copies. The OCR engine runs on your computer and downloads once (about 7 MB).
Can it convert PDF to Word, Excel, DXF or SVG?
Yes. PDF to Word keeps paragraphs and headings, PDF to Excel rebuilds tables from the page text, and PDF to DXF or SVG keeps the drawing's lines, curves, fills and text with one layer per colour. Converting a PDF back into the original CAD or Revit model (walls, blocks, layers) is not offered, because no tool can reliably rebuild it from a PDF.
